The Real Truth about Acrylic Nails (prepare to be surpised)
The truth - Acrylic nails are not bad for you and they will not damage your natural nails like many people believe.
Now I understand that many of you ladies over the years have visited salons, had arylic nails applied and left with a set of nails that when removed weeks/months later, reveal paper thin, red, sore and painful nails. So its understandable to think that acrylic nails have caused this damage to your nails.
However it is not the acrylic that has caused this, its the preparation of the nail plate prior to the acrylic application that has caused the damamge to the nail. Some Salons feel the need to use electric drills on the nail plate, remove layers of your natural nail before applying dental acrylic (yes thats right - acrylic that is not designed to be used on the nail but to make false teeth). As a result, you get a very strong set of acylic nails as dental acrylic is designed to be super strong, but you are left with badly damaged nails that are open to infection and will not repair until they grow out.
Unfortunately, as a result of this, Acrylic Nails have a bad reputation and Nail Technicians spend a lot of time trying to re-educate people that Acrylic nails (if applied professionally and using quality products that are designed for the nail) are no worse for your nails than wearing nail polish.
In fact, for people that have weak nails that are prone to breaking, Acrylic nails can actually help protect the natural nail - and I can confirm this having now worn acrylic nails for 10 years. I know that if I wanted to, I can remove them tomorrow to reveal strong healthy nails with no damage at all.
Acrylic Nails do not have to be long either, they can be short, long, round, square or pointed - view my gallery for examples.
To keep them looking tip top all you need is regular infills every 2-3 weeks, and its as simple as that.
So why not try a set of acrylic nails and see for yourself?
